The beauty and luxury offered by The Classic Club in Palm Desert is attracting noted charitable organizations for their fundraising events. Greatly reduced greens fees on the lush, 18-hole championship golf course are encouraging these groups to hold charitable tournaments and banquets during prime season. Complete with water features, flowering bushes, shrubs and olive trees, the Zagat-rated course also boasts 360-degree views of the surrounding majestic mountain ranges. "The Classic Club course has been ranked between Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines, which are two of California's most celebrated golf courses," says Greg Rubino, Classic Club General Manager. The Berger Foundations ownership and mission for the Classic Club allow groups to submit for tournament play under special charitable rates. Organizations are able to host their events at a world-class venue and maximize their fundraising efforts. The property's exceptional private rooms, picturesque outdoor spaces and banquet facilities can accommodate groups of 10-400 with food and beverage service. Gary Funtes, who recently hosted a holiday scholarship fundraiser in the Classic Club Board Room, is offering glowing reviews about his experience to other organizations. My first evening at the Classic Club was even better than I could have anticipated, Funtes says. The staff was able to accommodate a larger party than we had initially expected, and the food was terrific. There was a violinist playing beautiful music, and the holiday decorations were magnificent. If someone in our party needed something, like a fork or water, the response was immediate. Those very things are what would compel me choose the Classic Club for my next event. The Classic Club also offers fine dining for discerning food lovers in a remarkable setting. Bellatrix is the property's new restaurant, offering fresh, vibrant flavors inspired by a variety of international fare. The menu features Mediterranean, Asian and French accents, and guests have been pleasantly surprised at the diversity. Examples of the distinctive menu choices include a Parma ham and grilled Bosc pear flatbread appetizer, braised lamb shank with Kalamata olive ragout and grilled Alaskan halibut paella. The restaurants wine list is extensive, focusing on a wide array of California Chardonnays, Pinots and Cabernets, with 34 selections offered by the glass. Our list features some terrific, lesser-known producers like Summerland in Santa Barbara and Domaine Drouhin from Oregons Willamette Valley, says Christine Paxton, Bellatrix Sales and Catering Manager. We have also introduced monthly wine dinners, with themes that will focus on regions throughout the West, providing the perfect venue to book your next philanthropic event. Bellatrix is open for lunch seven days a week, beginning at 11 a.m., and dinner is served Tuesday-Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. Bellatrix and the Classic Clubs banquet facilities are available for pre-booked special events, seven days a week.
